RIP to a humble gardener

Last week Reninca and I prepared to leave Haiti for a short time back in the UK.

There’s never a good time to leave Haiti, and last week was no exception with the continuing rise of cholera cases across the North.  You can read more about that on our news page which I’ll write later.

Yet, amidst this new peak of cholera cases in the North, perhaps our lasting memory of the final few weeks (or perhaps the trip as a whole) was the memory of a tragic and daily health need that we often forget to write about.   Read more »

Hope for those with disability – Reninca’s blog

Life, as always, is so busy with so much happening here in Haiti. Read on to get an update about our work with disability over the last couple of weeks.

Work at the children’s home has been continuing, there are many new children on the program and we have been working closely with the rehabilitation centre to develop the work. The children’s routine has been really boosted by the sessions in the sensory room and we have added watching a dvd in the evening. The refurbishment has made a big impact, the staff have renewed vigour and life in the home is full of fun, learning and loving care.
