HAITI OPPORTUNITIES:

We currently have two exciting opportunities in Haiti, perfect for individuals looking for missionary work, oversea aid internship opportunities or gap year students!  If you’re looking for an experience in the field these might be right for you…

PROGRAMME ASSISTANT:

HHA is currently looking for an individual to support our Programme Manager in Haiti, helping to implement and manage a range of programmes including: a UKaid funded maternity & paediatric community grant/programme, a UN funded Emergency Department construction project and various other health/disability related grants.  This role will also include supporting one of North Haiti’s leading hospitals, improving monitoring and evaluation standards, logistics and other organisational activities.  We are looking for an excellent team player who has the confidence to use their own initiative but also the humility to be led.  Haiti can be a challenging environment, so applicants need to be comfortable working in an environment which requires flexibility, patience, a good sense of humour and a positive outlook.  Applicants must be committed to HHAs Christian ethos.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get into international development or public health.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:

HHA is currently looking for someone to help manage our guesthouse accommodation (volunteer village), team visits and general logistics.  Working alongside an amazing team in Haiti, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for a gap year or missionary opportunity.  All training will be provided, so no previous experience required as long as you’re flexible, willing to roll your sleeves up and join the adventure with a positive outlook.  This role includes arranging mission trips and supporting NGO teams whilst in Haiti, assisting oversea aid volunteers at one of the leading hospitals in North Haiti and supporting programme activities, including: our respite centre for children with disabilities and the hospitals logistics team.  Haiti can be a challenging environment, so applicants need to be comfortable working in an environment which requires flexibility, patience, a good sense of humour and a positive outlook.  Applicants must be committed to HHAs Christian ethos.

UK OPPORTUNITIES:

Fundraiser Internship:

Are you looking to get into fundraising?  We have an exciting fundraising internship available at our UK office which will involve working with some experienced fundraisers in a range of activities including: community fundraising, major donor relations, government and larger agency funding (DFID, UN etc.), trusts & foundations.  This role is available for individuals on a part time or full time basis and is a voluntary position with expenses only.  If you’d like to know more, please do get in touch!

Other internship opportunities…

We’re looking for passionate, vibrant and creative voluntary interns, ideally for 6-12 month periods.  If you have a heart for issues of poverty and justice, and are happy to get stuck into a variety of activities then get in touch.  The internship will provide you with a great range of skills and the opportunity to be involved in an exciting NGO.  We’re after people with good administration skills, or those with a more creative edge, who’d happily develop campaigns, work with our designers, and visit schools, churches and the like holding talks.  Voluntary position, expenses only.  Hours negotiable.

Volunteer Opportunities:

If you’re based in the UK and feel you have the time, skills and energy to join our wonderful team of volunteers, we’d love to hear from you.  Our work wouldn’t be possible in Haiti without the sacrificial support of individuals within the UK who give over their time, and support our UK office.  Whether you have just a few spare hours a week, or a few days, we’d love to hear from you.
