As you may have read in the Sunday Mirror, last week we had the privilege of welcoming our Patron Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith from Downton Abbey) to Haiti. It’s been an incredible week, and we are deeply thankful for Laura’s heart to come to Haiti and support this work.
It’s official! Next week, HHA Patron Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith in Downton Abbey, will be visiting our hospital in Haiti.
It’s been several months now since Downton Abbey star Laura Carmichael kindly agreed to become HHA’s first Patron, and today she’s busy working with us in London, filming a new Maternity campaign film which we’ll be launching soon!
Several weeks ago HHA had the privilege to be a part of a round table discussion with several other major NGOs, representatives of the UK Foreign Office, and the UK Ambassador for Haiti. During this time, the current food instability in Haiti was sited as a major concern.
