Join us this Sunday for a special Fun Day BBQ
We hope you enjoyed the Olympics and are now getting ready for the Paralympics, which are fast approaching.
We have some exciting news to share with you. On 2nd September in Bromley, we’ll be hosting the Haitian Paralympic Team at a special Family Fun Day. We’ll also be hearing from Leon, one of HHA’s spinal cord patients who was injured in the earthquake in 2010, and is now heading over to London for the games, as an ambassador for our work. We will also be joined by Laura Carmichael, (Lady Edith), from Downton Abbey!
This will be a community event to remember as you can have real insight into our work from those it has impacted. Leon’s story has captivated the heart of many of our supporters. During the earthquake he lost his wife, eight of his children, his home, and the ability to walk. Many thought his chance of survival was slim. However, through his courage, faith and determination, and the support of HHA, he overcame impossible odds in a journey which has finally led to London 2012. Leon and some of the Paralympic team will be sharing their inspiring stories alongside live music, a BBQ, raffle, and lots more!
If you want to capture some of that Olympic excitement again, and celebrate the Paralympics, then we’d love to see you! This great event will not only be a fantastic and inspiring afternoon, it will also help raise support for our continued work on the ground for all those effected with disability.
